The Penndelphia Scholarship Foundation was founded in 1993 by a group from two of the city's veterans organizations: the Penndelphia Marine Corps League and the Montford Point Marine Association, representing the first black Marines denied combat service in the then-segregated Armed Services. Marine ties notwithstanding, our non-profit board of directors is composed of representatives of all the services, as well as other volunteer men and women active in their communities, and in business, civic and fraternal organizations. Funding for scholarships is derived from contributions by individuals, businesses, and civic and fraternal organizations. Contributors are also welcomed to name a scholarship in memoriam or on behalf of a particular organization.
We are governed by a Board of Directors and are supported by an Honorary Board of Directors.

WE'RE VETERANS LIVING AND WORKING IN PHILADELPHIA
"Veterans are among the most giving people I know. They've served their country and they want to contine to help their communities, whether it's right here in Philadelphia where we're located or throughout the region. And there's no better way to do that than by assisting in the education of our young people. They're the backbone of our military in times of war, but they're our peacetime strength, too."
Lamar Golden
PSF Chairman, and Past National Commandant of The Marine Corps League
